Agricultural Uses
WILT-PRUF® may be used as an anti-transpirant on peach and cherry trees to improve the color and size of peaches and reduce splitting of cherries.
Moisture entering the cherry at the base of the stem area expands the cherry. This in turn forces the skin to expand, causing it to split. WILT-PRUF's protective coating helps keep moisture from entering at the base of the stem thereby reducing the chance of expansion.
WILT-PRUF® is recommended to be diluted at a ratio of 1:25. Four gallons of WILT-PRUF® concentrate should be mixed to 100 gallons of water to cover one acre of mature fruit trees. Some growers use from 50 to 300 gallons per acre, but we recommend no more than 100 gallons. Other chemicals in this case should not be mixed with the WILT-PRUF® solution.
Peach Trees should be sprayed 2-3 weeks prior to harvest.
Cherry trees should be sprayed one month prior to harvest.
